Welding training at Adult Ed

ST. JOHN VALLEY - The St. John Valley Adult and Community Education Collaborative (MSAD #27, Madawaska, MSAD #33) will be offering two Welding training program at the St. John Valley Technology Center during Winter/Spring semester 2011.

The center will hold one session on Wednesday evenings from 6-9 p.m., beginning January 12, 2010. Danny Robinson is the instructor of the course. The center will hold the other session on Tuesdays from 3:30-6:30 p.m., beginning January 18. Course instructor is Kevin Daigle.

The collaborative has designed these skills-based programs to provide participants with instruction and practice in the areas required for state certification, beginning with structural welding requirements. The main focus of this course will be oxyfuel, bronzing, cutting, safety cylinder handling, and an introduction to stick welding using 6010, 6011, and 7018 electrodes in various positions. Experienced participants may proceed at their own pace upon demonstration of skills competency.
