Warriors win over Central Aroostook
FORT KENT - On Monday, Jan. 23, the Central Aroostook Panthers traveled to Fort Kent in freezing rain that caused the cancellation of the JV game scheduled for the same night to take on the Warrior boys' varsity team.
It was a close game throughout all of the quarters with scores usually remaining within five points of each other. The stands were packed with fans. Many of the Fort Kent fans had Warriors towels that they would swing around whenever their team scored a basket.
There were also fans from Mars Hill who came out to support their team.
It was the Warriors, however, that would end up taking the win and serving Mars Hill their first loss in two years.
After the game, senior Tom Enerva said, "Our chemistry was there and our team worked as a unit. Our potential showed last night."
Top shooters for the night were Charlie Nadeau with 12 points, Thomas Enerva with 11, and Curtis Bouchard with 9 points.
The next home game for the Fort Kent boys was on Wednesday Jan. 25 when they took on the Madawaska Owls.
