UMFK's men's basketball tops Fisher in Colby Invitational
WATERVILLE/Fort Kent - Jeremy Thomas had a game-high 25 points on 8-for-12 shooting as the University of Maine at Fort Kent took a 67-60 win over Fisher College in the Colby College Men's Basketball Invitational on Saturday.
Thomas also shot 6-for-6 from the foul line. The Bengals were 15-for-18 from the foul line and Fisher had just a 4-for-7 effort.
Yoshives Belizaire of Miramar, Fla. added 10 points, while Manny Odugbela of Providence, R.I. had nine for the Bengals. Othniel Hyliger of Sandy Point, St. Kitts contributed eight points and a game-high 11 rebounds for UMFK. Pablo Llamas of Leon, Spain had a game-high five assists.
Dennis Norfold of New Haven, Conn. led Fisher with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Ryan McCorkle of Bellevue, Wash. had 11 points and Orlando Zayas of East Boston, Mass. finished with nine.
UMFK moves to 5-5 overall after falling to Colby last Friday night. Fisher, which will play the Mules on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the three-team tourney, falls to 2-8.
