UMFK basketball teams work their way towards tournaments

NEWPORT NEWS, VA/Fort Kent - The University of Maine at Fort Kent women's basketball team, winners of four straight games, jumped all the way into twenty-first place in this weeks' USCAA Coaches Poll released by the national office in Newport News, Virginia.

The UMFK men's basketball team, winners of nine of their last ten games, remained in eighth place in the Men's Basketball D1 poll.

The USCAA Women's National Tournament will consist of 16 teams, with 13 receiving at-large bids, while the Men's Division One National Tournament will be an eight-team tournament with all eight teams receiving eight at-large bids. All three National Tournaments, women's 16-team, men's D1 8-team, and men's D2 12-team, will be held at Penn State Fayetteville's Eberly Campus in Uniontown, PA, March 6 through 10.
