Sun blinds driver, results in collision
15 February 2012
FORT KENT - Driving at certain times of the day can potentially be hazardous, as Lloyd Paradis of Fort Kent discovered when the 80-year-old man was blinded by the sun pulling out of the church parking lot on East Main Street on the morning of Feb. 13.
A combined total of approximately $4000 of damage resulted when Paradis collided with another vehicle on Main Street.
Twenty-eight year old Crystal Corriveau of Fort Kent was driving herself and a two-year old girl in a 2001 Daewoo when Paradis' 2009 Chevrolet failed to yield the right-of-way and struck her vehicle on the right front fender.
Corriveau brought the baby to Northern Maine Medical Center to have her checked. Information about the young child's progress is pending.
