Snowy roads cause accident
FORT KENT - Two cars with multiple passengers collided with each other on on Dubois Road near South Perley Brook in the early afternoon hours on Feb 12, due to snowy conditions. There were no reports of injuries.
Twenty-year old Kyle Davenport of Fort Kent was exiting a driveway onto Dubois Road in a 2000 Ford with 19-year-old Whitney Babin as a passenger when Davenport became aware that the vehicle 42-year-old Dianna Blanchette of Frenchville was driving was having trouble slowing down. Davenport backed into the driveway to give the 2000 GMC room to pass when Davenport saw the oncoming vehicle swerve toward his vehicle. He pulled out into the road to try to avoid a collision, but was unable to prevent one.
The GMC struck a snow bank on the right side of the road, and then hit the Ford. Blanchette had 42-year old Jason Pelletier, an eight-year-old girl, and 15-year-old boy in the vehicle with her at the time of the accident.
