Small fire in Allagash

ALLAGASH - Jeremy McBreairty's house on Walker Brook in Allagash caught fire on Sunday around 5:30 p.m.

According to Nola Begin at the Allagash Town Office, McBreairty is her nephew.  She said he called in the report and the 14 volunteers members of the fire department converged on his home.

Lead by Fire Chief Sean Lizotte, the firefighters put out the blaze, saving the home.  Begin said the home appeared to have sustained primarily smoke damage and had little structural damage.

Chief Lizotte had not returned phone calls by press time for this story.
