Police received a report at approximately 7:43 a.m. on Feb. 6 that a blue Mercury Mountaineer was on it's back near 1332 Aroostook Road in Wallagrass.

When Maine State Trooper Dan Marquis arrived on the scene, the driver of the crashed vehicle, Noah Elston, 50, of Standish, Maine was walking around his vehicle, apparently unharmed.

Some men, who said they had accompanied Elston on a snowmobile trip to the area, arrived in a van before the police and were standing in a group across the road from the accident scene.  They said he rolled the car at least twice.

Trooper Marquis said the car probably rolled only once.  Marquis said, "He would have had more damage than that."

"There was a little bit of frost up there."  Marquis said Elston probably started to slip, then overcorrected and went into the snowbank and rolled over.

Elston's acquaintances said he saw an oncoming vehicle and swerved to avoid the vehicle.

Marquis said Elston went off the west side of the road, rolling at least once before the vehicle came to a rest on its topside.

More patrolling needed !!

Folks are traveling way to fast on this poorly designed rebuilt section of route #11,,three in the ditch in the last week alone !! If this wreck would have happened here that SUV would have hit our house !!!! His friends said he rolled the car at least twice !! You gotta be cruising to roll that may times !!! Was he doing the speed limit of 45 mph ?? I highly doubt it :-/ Does there have to be a death / deaths before we'll see any traffic control by law enforcement ???? A trooper lives across the road from where this wreck happened :-/ We don't dare let the kids play on our front lawns anymore as a lot of the car / truck traffic travels daily at 10 to 20 plus over the speed limits of 35 and 45 through Wallagrass !! scary to say the least !! Most trucks are even worse at night doing 30 plus over the limit,, I clocked (radar gun) an 18 wheeler doing 89 mph at 2:00 a.m. a few weeks ago and some cars last summer going up in the 90's :-0 If you want to know just how fast the traffic is going get yourselves one of these... http://www.amazon.com/Bushnell-Velocity-Speed-Colors-vary/dp/B0002X7V1Q/...

A new windshield new plugs

A new windshield new plugs and we drove it home! That's built ford tough

Don't Blame Police for this.

After reading this comment I felt the need to enlighten the community and tell them that police have more to do then stop vehicles from speeding. There are important calls which they need to respond to that are more important then a speeding violation. Also this is one road! Do people realize how big Aroostook county is and how little troopers there are compared to people. They can't just stay on Aroostook road all day. If you have a problem with the police not doing their job then all you have to do is get an application and apply and then you can get all the speeders you want. Also people should not forget we live in Northern Maine and the roads are icy at time which is what causes accidents to happen.
