Colpitts leads Lady Bengals past Roos
FORT KENT - Jenn Colpitts had game-highs of 22 points and five steals as the University of Maine at Fort Kent women's basketball team avenged a Jan. 8 loss to SUNY Canton by beating the Roos 75-51 Saturday afternoon in a USCAA match-up at home in Fort Kent on Jan. 21.
Saturday afternoon the Lady Bengals jumped on the visiting Roos early in the first half and held a 43-24 halftime advantage. UMFK would end up turning 25 SUNY Canton turnovers into 26 points. Freshmen forward Ericka Christensen added 19 points (7-10 FG) and eight boards, and Taylor Boucher added 13 points. UMFK shot a season high 51 percent from the floor (31-61). Colpitts added a team-high four assists for UMFK who received 30 points from their reserves on the afternoon.
SUNY Canton (4-12) was led by Elissa St. Germain who had 17 points.
