Brothers discover revolver near American Dream

ST. JOHN - Fort Kent police say that two brothers found a .45 revolver in the water near the American Dream Resort.

The report came to police around 5:30 on Saturday night.  According to police reports, the two unidentified men were on the left side of the boat landing behind the restaurant, where they discovered the gun.

The gun is very rusty.

Officer Dalen Boucher said they are sending the gun to the lab.  At the lab, technicians will be able to remove the corrosion and determine the serial number of the gun.  Once law enforcement knows the serial number, Officer Boucher said that state police will probably contact the owner of the gun to determine why it was in that location.

In an unrelated incident, On Saturday morning around 1:30, Fort Kent police received a report of a fight behind BeeJay's Tavern.

Police arrived at the scene and determined that the individual had run away.  Later in the evening, police discovered the person who ran away had gone to the emergency room at Northern Maine Medical Center.

Police had no other details regarding the fight at this time.
