Adult education collaborative to offer Maine Driving Dynamics course

ST. JOHN VALLEY - In cooperation with the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety, the St. John Valley Adult and Community Education Collaborative, comprised of SAD 27, SAD 33, and Madawaska, will offer the Maine Driving Dynamics Course from 8:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the St. John Valley Technology Center in Frenchville on Saturday, Feb. 11.

Designed by the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety, this course offers all drivers the opportunity to improve their defensive driving abilities.

Participants completing this course will receive a three-point credit on their driving record.

This five-hour program includes discussion of collision avoidance techniques, safety issues, driver habits and attitudes, and the basic elements that constantly challenge drivers on Maine's highways.

The course format engages participants with a mixture of lectures, videos, and class discussion and participation.

Trooper Stanley Jandreau of the Maine State Police is the course instructor.

For more information or to register, interested individuals should call 834-3536 or 728-6314 or stop by the SAD 27 Adult and Community Education Center located at Community High School in Fort Kent or the Madawaska/SAD 33 Adult and Community Education office located at Madawaska Middle/High School by the registration deadline of noon on Wednesday, Feb. 8.

A pre-paid registration fee of $40 for those aged 15-64 and $10 for those 65 years and older is due at time of registration.
