SINCLAIR- The Aroostook County Knights of Columbus are holding the 2nd Annual Polar Dip for Special Olympics on Mar. 24, 2013 at The Long Lake Sporting Club restaurant in Sinclair, Maine. This is to be the first of what is hoped will be an annual event. Proceeds will benefit the Aroostook County Chapter of the Special Olympics of Maine. Participation is open to all individuals and organizations.

Participation paperwork is available for download from  www.aroostookknights.org/2013-polar-dip-for-special-olympics/

This is a worthy cause in line with the organizing principles of the Knights of Columbus. “Knowing that a bit of displeasure will bring a smile to a Special Olympic athlete makes it all worthwhile!” says Duane Belanger, moderator of the Aroostook County Knights of Columbus.

Participants who raise at least $50 will be eligible for a special T-shirt commemorating their involvement as a dipper. Registration will be from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on the day of the event and the CHILLING will begin promptly at 2 p.m. More information can be found at the Aroostook County Website at www.aroostookknights.org or by contacting Duane Belanger at (207) 951-2874.

"The 2nd Annual Polar Dip"...

"The 2nd Annual Polar Dip"... "This is to be the first of what is hoped will be an annual event." Is it just me, or did someone stay in the water too long? Either way, it's for a good cause. See you there.
