Car goes over snowbank in single-vehicle accident
8 February 2013
FORT KENT – On Feb. 7, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Carmaine Landry, 86, of St. John lost control of her car in slippery conditions and left the road into a field on the north side of Route 161 in the vicinity of Violette Settlement Road. Neither she nor her passenger, Elmer Ouellette, reported any injuries, but the car sustained approximately $1,200 worth of damage, said Fort Kent Police Chief Kenneth Michaud.
Landry was traveling easterly in her 2000 Ford four-door when her car went off the road and “up over a snowbank,” said Michaud. Michaud was the investigating officer.
Twin's Service Station towed Landry's vehicle.
